These are decadent Chocolate Cherry Cookies. Get a glass of milk and enjoy!
Stir together flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Cream together butter and sugar; add egg and vanilla. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.
Shape into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Press down the center of each cookie with your thumb. Drain the cherries; reserve the juice. Place a cherry in the center of each cookie. In a small pan, combine chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Heat until the chocolate is melted. Then stir in 4 teaspoons of cherry juice.
Spoon about 1 teaspoon of frosting over each cookie an spread to cover the cherry. Yes, you frost them before you bake them. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let the cookies sit on the sheet for a few minutes before you remove them. You will get about 28 cookies.

Great recipe…I tried it the minute I read it. I love anything with cherries in it. I really like the personal touch of the cherry juice it really adds to the cherry experience, but I recommend using tart cherry juice concentrate and not the juice from the cherries if you really want a true cherry taste…I used 2 teaspoon of Fruit Advantage cherry juice concentrate and it really added to the flavor
