Such a wonderful simple chocolate chip cookie recipe – it is a family favorite… This recipe is asked for time and time again…
Cream butter, sugars, vanilla and then add eggs one at a time until incorporated.
Add the sifted flour, baking soda, and salt to the creamed mixture just until mixed.
Add chocolate chips and mix just to incorporate. Then add nuts if desired.
Roll chunks of dough into balls and then flatten. Bake at 350 degrees, 8-10 minutes.
Taking the cookies out of the oven when they still look “not quite done” makes for a chewy, yummy cookie… My favorite!
* Optional additions (substitute for nuts or use half nuts and half variable option):
* Add dried cherries or cranberries for a tart addition
* Use white chocolate or butterscotch chips
** I find baking on parchment paper gives the best result but they are good anyway, anytime, any place and with anybody!!!!!
*** This recipe will make 24-48+ cookies depending on size.
This dough also freezes well.
Enjoy!
