My Grandmother used to make these biscuits, so simple and delicious.
Mix the flour and sugar
Rub the butter in thoroughly- nearly overwork it it- so that it is smooth with no cracks.
Press dough into a round baking tin, should be about 1 cm thick. Prick it all over with a fork and sprinkle with sugar. Mark the slices with a knife.
Bake for 30 minutes at 160C/ 325F for 30 minutes.
Cut when warm or it will crack.
