Description

These cookies melt in your mouth – more like little bites of banana bread than traditional cookies. Depending on the size of the cookies you make, these can make about 4 dozen cookies – I count one serving as two cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cups Butter Or Margarine
  • ½ cups Shortening
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Cloves (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 4 whole Bananas, Mashed
  • 2 cups Quick Cooking Oats
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Pre-heat oven to 375.

1. Cream the sugar, butter, shortening, eggs and vanilla

2. Combine flour, baking soda and spice..

3. Gradually stir in the bananas and quick oats. Once combined, add the chocolate chips.

4. Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.

5. Bake for 10-12 min.; cool immediately on wire racks. (careful, it can be easy to over bake, so I always check at 10 min)

These cookies are very moist. I added some walnuts and Nutella since I didn’t have any chocolate chips. Nicely done.

I love to experiment on my daughter’s soccer team, bringing along a “healthy” treat of recipes unknown to me for the ride home on the bus after the game. Bananas and oats were healthy enough for me. Bananas and oats were delicious enough for them, with requests for the recipe from the moms afterward.

Seriously, these may be the best recipe I have tried on TK. I did, however, add double the chocolate chips. The recipe seemed to make a ton of cookies. My whole family is gobbling them up! AWESOME COOKIES.

These were a hit with my family!!! I added more cinnamon and more chocolate chips. Delicious!

I made these, and they are absolutely delicious. This recipe is definitely a keeper. I always joke that my husband only ever wants me to make chocolate chip cookies or banana bread – and this is the perfect combination of the two. My only change might be to increase the chocolate chips.

I thought these cookies were really good and my kids agreed! I halfed the recipe because I had two bananas that were getting to the point where I had to do something with them, but, after making them, wish I could have made the whole recipe! To tell the truth, I almost omitted the chocolate (choc & bananas are not one of my fav combinations), but I’m glad I didn’t. The recipe calls for just the right amount without overdoing it. I like that they are pretty healthy, too, and not too sweet. Great recipe, thanks for posting it! :)

I LOVE THESE COOKIES. I doubled the chocolate chips just because I love them, but recipe is excellent as is. Makes a ton of cookies. Love this recipe!
