Description

This delicious American Apple Pie is ideal for fall and winter cold days. There is nothing better than a smell of a freshly baked pie in the kitchen.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE CRUST:
  • 450 grams All-purpose Flour
  • 4 teaspoons Coconut Sugar
  • ⅓ teaspoons Salt
  • 250 grams Butter, Cold
  • 130 milliliters Cold Water
  • ⅔ Tablespoons Butter, For Greasing Pan
  • FOR THE FILLING:
  • 6 whole Medium Apples
  • 3 Tablespoons Ground Walnuts
  • 6 Tablespoons Coconut Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

Preparation

For the crust:
Mix four, sugar and salt together. Cut in butter. Slowly add the water until you form a dough. Divide the dough—2/3 for the bottom of the pie and 1/3 for the top. Let it sit in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

For the filling:
Peel and core the apples and slice about 1/5 inch thick. Mix with all dry ingredients.

Grease a pie pan with butter and add bottom crust. Fill pie with apples. Slice the top pie dough into stripes and add them on the top.

Preheat oven to 450ºF degrees and bake for about 20 minutes. Reduce temperature to 375ºF and bake for an additional 20–25 minutes.
