Description

I love this recipe for oatmeal cookies, because you can add anything in them. I usually add in chocolate chips, but if you want something different, you can add in dried cherries, walnuts or whatever else you like.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Softened Butter
  • 1-¼ cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups White Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 2 Tablespoons Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1-¾ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 3 dashes Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips, Walnuts, Dried Cherries (whatever You Like)
  • 2-½ cups Old-fashion Rolled Oats

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
2. Beat butter and sugars until creamed.
3. Add in eggs, milk and vanilla extract; beat well.
4. Combine all dry ingredients except oats and your choice of add-ins.
5. Slowly add in the dry ingredients in until completely combined, then add in oats and your choice of add-ins.
6. Drop tablespoonfuls of batter onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
7. Bake for 10-12 minutes (this depends on how crunchy or soft you like your cookies).

Note: if you want to make bars instead of cookies, press the dough into a ungreased 13×9 pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
