Use as a condiment.
1. In a blender add 1 cup water with vinegar, garlic, chilis, and salt. Blend until garlic and chilis are small chopped.
2. Place in a pot and bring to a boil.
3. Add the rest of the water and bring to a boil again. Boil 1 minute.
4. Cool mixture and then refrigerate.
Alternatives: add a tablespoon of ginger, replace 2 cups water with pineapple juice.

I can’t find these in Texas either but I think the closest thing to it are the Chinese red chili peppers that you find in your food at Chinese restaurants. sometimes you can get them at WalMart but for sure at an Asian market. We used to grow these in our yard in Hawaii.

I’ve never heard of Hawaiian red chili peppers, are they normally sold fresh or dried? Or, do you know of a substitution? Thanks!
