Description

It’s really a shame more people I meet don’t know how to make Alfredo Sauce, since it is one of the easiest, most flavorful sauces I make.

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Finely Minced
  • ½ packages (8 Oz. Package) Cream Cheese, Softened And Cut Into 1/2-inch Cubes
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 3 ounces, weight Parmesan Cheese, Grated
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 pinch Kosher Salt To Taste

Preparation

Melt butter in a medium, nonstick saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Add cream cheese, stirring with a whisk until smooth. Add milk, a little at a time, whisking until smooth. Stir in parmesan and pepper. Season with kosher salt, if needed. Remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency. Sauce will thicken quickly.

Enjoy!

I’ve made this several times as is, and it’s great! I made a variation tonight, however, since the ice storm we’re currently having kept me from going to the store for parmesan: I added a couple of cubes of homemade frozen pesto when I melted the butter and made a creamy pesto sauce. It didn’t get quite as thick as the normal alfredo, but was still delicious! I think next time I do it, however, I’ll cut the butter in half since I added oil (in the pesto).

I’m looking for a recipe to use up a bunch of milk—could this be frozen if I make a big batch?

OMGosh!!!! Made this for dinner tonight with small pieces of ham steak over spag noodles, and my family INHALED it!!! Thank you! I tried to make it before a few times with flour in the recipes….bland! This was SO flavorful, and a little sauce goes a long way. My 6 yr. old asked if I can make it again tomorrow night!!!!!

My husband has been using a VERY similar recipe for a couple years now – the only difference is his doesn’t have butter! I might have to sneak some in the pot next time and see what a difference it can make!

This was amazing! We went all out and used heavy cream instead of milk because I needed to use it up. The kids were practically eating it like soup! We added crawfish tails to it also because we had those leftover too! It is going to be my new go to Alfredo recipe!

When I couldn’t find my Tyler Florence recipe for alfredo I jumped on Tasty Kitchen to grab a new one. WOW, is this a winner!! Can I say it’s better than Tyler’s Recipe? Well, it is!! Easy, super quick and a “one of a kind” taste!

Easy peasy and was told it was ‘better than Olive Garden’s’! We added roasted broccoli and chicken to ours with some fettucine noodles. YUMMY!

I doubled the recipe – poured half over chicken & pasta and poured the remainder in a jar and stored in the fridge. My daughter & I pulled it out and warmed it up on the stove and poured over macaroni for a quick lunch – was better then the dinner! Great recipe.

Delicious and super quick sauce. Will be a go-to dish for those nights when time is tight. Also important: was a huge hit with the kids!
