Description

Desperate for a quick breakfast? Just put the ingredients for this recipe into your blender, blend, then pour into a skillet and pop it into the oven. This Vanilla Pear Dutch Baby is sure to impress!

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Whole Milk
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • ½ cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1-½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tablespoon Orange Zest (for A Tablespoon You'll Need Roughly One Orange) - Reserve Leftover Orange Slices For Squeezing
  • 2 whole Pears, Peeled, Cored And Diced
  • 2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Powdered Sugar

Preparation

1. Preheat the oven to 450 F. Place the milk, eggs, flour, sugar, vanilla and orange zest in the bowl of a blender and blend until smooth. Fold in the pear pieces until well combined.

2. Put the unsalted butter in a 10-inch cast iron skillet. Place the skillet in the oven while it’s preheating, to allow the butter to melt. Remove skillet from the oven once butter is melted and use a pastry brush to spread the butter evenly across the surface of the dish. Pour in the batter.

3. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 F and bake another 15 minutes, until the Dutch baby is golden brown and well puffed.

4. Remove from oven and dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm with orange slices for squeezing.
