Description

This granola is tasty, healthy and easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Rolled Oats
  • 2 cups Mixed Nuts And Seeds, Such As Slivered Almonds, Coarsely Chopped Pecans, Pumpkin Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Etc
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 1 cup Mixed Dried Fruit, Such As Raisins, Cranberries, Chopped Dried Apricots, Etc
  • ½ cups Warm Water
  • ½ cups Pure Maple Syrup Or Honey (or A Mixture Of Both)
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 300F. Lightly grease 2 large cookie sheets.
2. In a large bowl, stir oats with nuts, seeds, spices and dried fruit.
3. In a smaller bowl, stir water, maple syrup/honey, and vanilla.
4. Gradually pour the liquid over the oat mixture, and stir to evenly coat.
5. Spread granola on cookie sheets.
6. Bake at 300F, stirring often (every 5-10 minutes) to prevent burning. Bake until granola is starting to crumble, about 15 minutes.

This granola will last up to 1 month in the refrigerator.

It is very easy to adapt this recipe to suit your preferences. Any type of dried fruit or nuts will taste great! The last time I made it I added flaxseed in to make it even healthier. You can also make the granola into bars by firmly compressing the granola into a square pan and baking for double the time.
