Description

German-style pancakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 whole Eggs
  • 1-¼ cup Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil

Preparation

Pour all the dry ingredients into a bowl and mix.

Beat the eggs in a separate bowl and then blend the milk in with the eggs.

Then add the dry ingredients in with the eggs/milk.

Stir the oil in the mix.

Grease the pan only once for the first pancake. Because the mix is not that thick, the pancakes are really thin.

Pour the mixture into the pan and start flipping.

*For toppings, I use anything from a dusting of sugar to jam to using cut-up fruit to using a meat stir fry. Use whatever suits your fancy.

These are really, really thin — cooked up like a tortilla, in fact! Thanks for sharing your recipe. (We did end up adding 1.5 tsp of baking powder and a little extra flour after making the first batch, to thicken ‘em up for our kids! Still yummy!)

Wow, these are delicious! My daughter wanted breakfast for dinner and so I went looking for something a bit different. The description reminded me of pancakes I ate in Poland (nalesniki) so I tried it. My 14 year old can’t stop raving. I served them folded into quarters with a little bit of strawberry jam and a small plop of whipped cream on top. I also substituted melted butter for the oil. The two of us polished off the entire thing, so I’m a little embarrassed that this is supposed to serve five! But they really were that good!
