Need to prepare brunch for a crowd? Save yourself the hassle of pan-frying loads of bacon and do it in the oven instead.
Prepare bacon strips by removing rind and extra fat so you’re left with long, lean strips.
Roll each strip around your thumb and secure by threading onto a long wooden skewer. You should be able to fit four rolled up bacon strips on each skewer.
Place in the oven over a wire rack sitting atop a baking tray to catch the grease.
Bake in the oven (200C – hot) for about twenty minutes or until crisped to your liking.

Oh, Mommaof10! That’s terrible! I’m so sorry.
I always trim the bacon of extra fat when I cook it, whichever way I cook it, so it just didn’t occur to me to warn about this. I am so sorry, I hope your daughter is OK.
Maybe you could line the tray with slices of bread, like you do when making a meatloaf? That might soak up the excess fat.
Again, I’m so sorry.
Regards
Trish

We tried this method not too long ago. Be careful. The grease is harder to control in a shallow pan than a skillet.
My daughter received 3rd degree burns from bacon grease that sloshed out of of the pan when getting it out of the oven.
The bacon cooks well, but please be careful.
