You’d think this is a dessert, but it’s a healthy breakfast with saffron and honey roasted pear.
Turn on the oven grill.
Check the package instructions for cooking your oats (mine usually need a 10-minute soaking prior to cooking). Soak the oats in milk, adding saffron to infuse the milk. Add a pinch of salt, cardamom and cinnamon, bring to boil then reduce to a simmer and cook according to package instructions (mine took 15 minutes of cooking).
Meanwhile, peel the pear, cut in half, core, slice and place on aluminium foil. Sprinkle with lemon and drizzle a little honey (1 1 1/2 teaspoons) and place under the grill for 10-15 minutes.
Once the porridge is done, let it rest for 2-3 minutes, then stir in the remaining honey. Taste to check if more honey is needed. Serve immediately with grilled honey pears. Enjoy!
