A twist on the old stand by. No syrup or powdered sugar but it has honey and cinnamon. It also has you cook multiple servings in the oven at once so no more standing over a hot stove while others enjoy the fruit of your labors.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Combine 4 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp honey, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon and pour into a greased 9×12 baking dish and spread to coat bottom.
In a large, shallow bowl beat the eggs, O.J., and salt. Dip 6 pieces of bread in the egg mixture and place in the dish. Top each piece with a portion of the remaining butter, honey, and cinnamon. Dip the remaining 6 pieces of bread in the egg mixture and place on top of the first 6 pieces.
Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until the tops begin to brown. Invert onto plates and top with a bit more butter and honey.
It’s not low-cal, it’s not low-carb, and your doctor would probably have a heart attack if he knew you were eating this but it is just soooooooo good.
