These easy cinnamon chip scones are the perfect breakfast treat on a lazy Sunday morning.
Preheat oven to 375ºF.
Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender. Stir in cinnamon chips.
Mix egg yolk, buttermilk, and vanilla in a glass measuring cup. Add to dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
Scrape dough onto floured surface. Knead 6-8 times.
Divide dough in half. Form 6-inch circle with dough and cut each circle into 6 triangles. Place on baking sheet (not greased).
Cook for 15–18 minutes, rotating 180 degrees at halfway point. Cool on a wire rack.
