Description

This recipe came together from my love of all types of breakfast—sweet, tart and salty. Why not combine them all?

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French Bread
  • 1 pound Breakfast Sausage
  • 2  Apples
  • 8  Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • ½ cups Half-and-half
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon

Preparation

1. Cut and cube French bread into 1 inch pieces. Place into a greased 9×13 pan.

2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage then drain off the grease. Distribute evenly over the bread.

3. Peel, core and dice apples. Distribute evenly over the sausage and bread.

4. In a bowl, mix together the eggs, milk, half-and-half, and cinnamon. Pour over the the bread, sausage, and apples. Let it sit while the oven is preheating to 350 F. Then put the dish into the oven and bake at 350 F for 40 to 45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the center is set.

Serve with warmed maple syrup. Enjoy!
