Description

These biscuits are so easy to make and are so light and fluffy! I often make a batch of these to go along side of homemade chili or soup. These yummy biscuits are a good breakfast to grab as you run out the door!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 4 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ¾ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ cups Butter Or Hard Margarine
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1-½ cup Grated Cheddar Cheese
  • Optional Add-in Ingredients: Diced Ham, Crumbled Cooked Bacon, Salami, Chives, Parsley.

Preparation

Measure flour, baking powder and salt into bowl. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Add water and cheese. Stir to moisten. If you are adding any optional ingredients as listed above add them now. Drop tablespoons of batter about 2 inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet.

Bake in a 425 degrees oven for about 15 minutes, or until nicely golden brown.

Makes 15 large biscuits.

Note: I often add the optional ingredients and make the biscuits smaller by using a teaspoon to put on baking sheet. This makes a nice appetizer. Everyone loves them and the plate is always empty!!

So good! I use milk instead of water and add grated cheddar cheese. You don’t even need to put butter on them! I make a big batch and freeze them. They thaw well and reheat in the oven nicely.

These biscuits live up to their name. So incredibly easy, but so good! I use milk instead of water and added in dill and shredded cheddar cheese for my mix ins. I will definitely be keeping this recipe!

Delicious. I used milk instead of water, cooked the turkey bacon in a little olive oil with garlic and pepper, and they turned out great. Thanks!

These biscuits were really good. I also used milk instead of water. I put in a little bit of garlic powder and some chives. My husband really enjoyed them.
