I make these scones for my husband at least weakly! They are so easy and so delicious! I do usually use mini chocolate chips though, seems to work better for us!

This is such a simple recipe for really great scones. I made chocolate chip ones first, then realized how adaptable this recipe would be for using other flavors and ingredients. The second time I made them, I reduced the flour to 2 3/4 cup, and added in 1/2 cup of quick oats, switched the chocolate chips for 2 cups pecan pieces, and then added in a teaspoon of maple flavor and a tablespoon of cinnamon. Then I made a quick icing with 3 cups of powdered sugar, 1/2 cup of milk, and 1 1/2 teaspoon of maple flavor. They were DELICIOUS! Great for breakfast. Thanks for a perfect scone base!

Made these this morning and they were super easy to make. My husband and I love them!! We’ve spent the last thirty minutes discussing what else we could use in place of chocolate.
Thanks for the recipe. Yay for scones!!

We absolutely love this recipe at our house. These will be on the menu for tailgating this fall, for brunch this winter, and for anytime the rest of the year. I have had scones, but they were always dense and heavy. These are light, rich, and wonderful! Yummy!

Unfortunately this recipe was a flop for me. The scones tasted wonderful BUT the dough was EXTREMELY sticky and it did not stay in form at all. My triangle-shaped scones turned in to big circles in the oven. More luck next time?
