Description

A favorite stew that my family loves during the winter months. It’s perfect for eating after a long day skiing or playing in the snow or shoveling the snow or working or … whatever. Easy to make and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Stew Meat
  • 4 whole Potatoes, Cubed
  • 3 whole Carrots, Sliced
  • 3 stalks Celery, Sliced
  • 1 can (10.75 Oz. Can) Cream Of Celery Soup
  • 1 can (10.75 Oz. Can) Cream Of Chicken Soup
  • 1 can (4 Oz. Can) Tomato Sauce
  • 1 package (about 1 Oz. Package) Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • 2 leaves Bay Leaves

Preparation

Layer stew meat, potatoes, carrots, and celery in a crock pot. Mix soups, tomato sauce, and onion soup mix then pour mixture over the items in the crockpot. Place bay leaves on top of mixture. Cook in the crock pot on low for 6-8 hours. Remove bay leaves before serving. Enjoy!

We like to top this with Worcestershire sauce. It adds some nice flavor. Enjoy with your favorite garlic bread.

Love this recipe and it’s my favorite way to make stew now. So simple and yummy.

I cooked this and it didn’t look like the picture at all…I was really disappointed!

I cooked this stew on high and it took about 4 hours to cook – just be sure to watch the meat to ensure it doesn’t overcook.

Can you cook it on high for a shorter amount of time?

No need to brown the meat, just throw it in. One thing I forgot to mention, give the stew a few good stirs throughout the 6-8 hours it’s cooking.

I made this and although mine looked nothing like the pic it was still very delicious. I did substitute a can of cream of mushroom soup for the cream of chicken soup simply because it made more sense to me and that’s what I had. Easy peasy made with pantry staples, I recommend it :)

This hearty stew was simple to make and very delicious! I added some worcestershire sauce at the end – and it was wonderful! Will definitely make this again.
