Classic pancake recipe, dubbed “BFF” because my girls make them together.
The only rule in my kitchen is, “Make it from scratch, and make it your own.” This is the simple pancake recipe I grew up on. To make it our own, we always add a dash of cinnamon. I prefer to use whole wheat flour, but that’s not always the case.
Add all dry ingredients in a medium-large mixing bowl, and stir before adding the wet ingredients.
Use a measuring cup or ladle to scoop up batter and place on a hot grill or frying pan.
You will know it is time to flip when the third bubble on the top of the pancake doesn’t close back up. (At least, that’s what my mom always told me.) So flip it, cook it on the other side until browned and you are ready to go. Repeat with remaining batter.
