This is a great recipe for anytime, but it’s ideal for the Holidays to make the night before for when you might have company in the morning.
Grease a 9×13 glass dish.
Cut crust from the 12 slices of bread. Line the dish with the bread.
Layer the 6 slices of ham, add the cheese and mushrooms.
Cover with the remaining bread.
In a large bowl, beat eggs, milk, salt & dry mustard. Pour over the casserole and top with the bread crumbs. Dot with the butter and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight.
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake 1 hour and 20 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.
