Description

Let’s pretend these little savory spiral rolls stuffed with a creamy, ham and broccoli filling won’t change your life. Because they will.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Batch Of Roll Dough That Yields About 12 Average-sized Dinner Rolls (or Prepackaged Dough)
  • ¼ cups Butter, Softened
  • 12 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 2 cups Chopped Deli Ham (or Other Leftover Ham)
  • 1-½ cup Finely Chopped Broccoli
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese (swiss, Cheddar, The Options Are Limitless)
  • 1 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 cup Finely Chopped Green Onions

Preparation

Follow the recipe for your roll dough until the point where the dough has risen. Punch down the dough and roll the dough out into a large rectangle about 1/2-inch thick (I rolled my dough to about 13 inches by 17 inches).

In a small bowl, cream together the butter and cream cheese. Spread the rolled out dough with the butter/cream cheese mixture. Top with the ham, broccoli, cheese, Parmesan cheese, and green onions. Roll the dough up, pinching the seam to seal. Slice the roll into about 1-inch segments. Place the rolls on a lightly greased baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap. Let the rolls rise until nearly doubled and then bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes, until lightly browned and bubbly.

I made these without ham (vegetarian version) and they were popular and delicious. I added red pepper and replace the parmesan with feta. Awesome!! Thanks for sharing.

I made these yesterday and they are very good. I have a breadmaker so made my standard bread dough in it. I think they would be really good in the winter with a bowl of potato soup! I froze most of them so hope that doesn’t alter the original outcome. I thought the directions were very clear.

I wondered the same thing . . . how they would freeze. They really do look good! If they wouldn’t freeze, I might eat the entire recipe!

Turns out that this is still delicious even if you happen to get frustrated trying to roll it and just go with a flatbread pizza looking thing. Not that I’m speaking from experience or anything. ;) Either way..yummy recipe.

This made a great weeknight dinner, I used 2 cans of crescent roll dough with all the triangles pressed together. I ended up with a lot of filling so I just set one layer of crescents on some parchment paper, dumped the filling on top, then covered it all with the remaining crescent layer and pressed the edges together like a big calzone. It was very tasty, the hubs loved it ” )

Made these for dinner tonight and they were very good. I made my own dough and added 1/2 t of granulated garlic to the cream cheese mixture. I also added the broccoli and green onion to the cream cheese to make it easier to spread and roll. Will be making these again. I think they will freeze well. Thanks for sharing.
