Description

A huge hit with my family. They are healthy without damaging the familiar flavor of chocolate chip cookies. I never go back to regular chocolate chip cookies after this recipe. These babies are quick and easy to make and are sure to be gone as soon as they are out of the oven.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Splenda (can Use Regular Sugar As Well Or Other Low-cal Sweetener)
  • ¾ cups Packed Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Margarine
  • ¼ cups Applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 whole Egg (or Egg Substitute)
  • 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1-½ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 package Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Preparation

1. Heat oven to 375ºF.

2. Mix sugars, margarine and applesauce in large bowl and beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg.

3. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to wet mixture (dough will be stiff). Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.

3. Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft). Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.

Best enjoyed warm.

These were great! I’m making a second batch now – hopefully they will last longer then the first.
