I’d give it a 3 but chose 4 for the easy preparation. I felt something was missing, perhaps a richer chocolate flavor as others have noted. However, with vanilla ice cream, the dish tasted much better. I like the ease of preparation in comparison to traditional molten lava cake but I feel I’m missing the mouth feel from this dish that MLC offers with its addition of egg yolks. Interesting recipe and thank you for sharing.

This was so yummy. It was hard to determine when the cake had set because of the nature of the cake. It was a little too sweet for me. I reheated it in our toaster oven ( conventional oven 350 for 15 minutes, slightly covered in foil ) and sprinkle a little bit of sea salt over it before putting it in. It was spot on! Serving it hot with cold vanilla ice cream is to die for!

I will have to double the recipe going forward because it is very addictive and before you know it, you and your husband will have eaten all 10 servings.

This was sooo delicious! Gooey and warm. I used dark cocoa powder and it turned out uber yum! My friends appreciate your recipe

I made your Granny’s Chocolate Cobbler recipe (now gluten-free for my kitchen) and it was bliss in a bowl!
Cheers for sharing!

Hi,
This cobbler is completely delicious. I’ve made it twice now and during the second time have altered some of the ingredients and it still came out great (used whole-wheat pastry flour and sucanat). I’ll still be playing with your basic recipe and try to make it more “mine”. But I also wanted to let you know that I blogged about it on my blog (http://annasrecipebox.com/2010/11/03/chocolate-cobbler/) and cited this cite and you as the original source. Please let me know if it’s not OK to do that.

I made this last night and we liked it. Next time I’ll use a high-quality darker cocoa powder so it has a better chocolate taste. Using regular baking cocoa powder made it have a “chocolatey” taste, but it definitely wasn’t rich, like a brownie.
Fun recipe doing the layers and the hot water, though!

I made this for a family dinner last weekend and it turned out really well. I doubled the recipe and it was one of the easiest desserts ever! I will be making it again this weekend.
