Description

Our family’s #1 cookie choice!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Margarine, Melted
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1 whole Egg
  • ½ cups Peanut Butter
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • ⅓ cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Flour
  • ½ cups Quick Oats
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 package Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (6oz.)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Melt margarine in a bowl and add the rest of the wet (vanilla, egg, peanut butter) ingredients to it. Mix thoroughly.

Mix dry ingredients separately (all but the chips), then add to wet ingredients. Stir it all together and add the chocolate chips.

Place by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes.

Be sure to sample these while they’re still warm – yummy!

*Note – we often triple or quadruple this recipe; more flour may be necessary in a larger batch.

Cookie Momster, thanks for trying the recipe! You probably don’t have to melt the margarine, but it sure makes it easier to stir the batter, especially for the larger batches!

Made these for my kids for afterschool today. Liked the smaller batch recipe. I was surprised by the melted margarine – it made the dough very greasy. The cookies baked up nicely, and the small amount of oatmeal creates a different texture. My kids like them. This recipe made 27 average size (2 1/2″) cookies. I flattened mine slightly prior to baking.
