My take on the classic Monte Cristo.
Prepare the egg batter by beating the eggs with milk in a pie plate. Set aside.
Assemble the sandwiches:
Spread 2 slices of bread with the Dijon and 2 slices of bread with the raspberry jam.
Place 2 slices of turkey on the Dijon bread and top with provolone cheese. Then place 2 slices of ham on top of cheese. Next layer the mozzarella and top with the raspberry jam bread.
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides.
Place in the hot butter and grill on each side until brown and melted through.
To serve, cut each sandwich in two and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
