This has replaced our regular chocolate chip cookie recipe. It is, by far, my family’s favorite cookie. You can change it up a bit by substituting the chocolate chips with raisins or craisins and white chocolate chips.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until just blended. Mix in the oats and chocolate chips. Drop by heaping spoonfuls, or use a medium-sized cookie scoop, onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 12 to 14 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.

I made these cookies tonight after caving to an all day craving – and they hit the spot! These cookies come out just as advertised, and they are super easy to make (I can’t cook to save my life, so you know it must be easy!). Thanks for sharing your recipe, these may become a fast family favorite!

I made these cookies tonight after deciding that my co-workers would appreciate something other than my typical peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
This recipe turned out good! As the title states, the cookies are definitely chewy. The cookies had the perfect amount of chocolate chips – chocolate in every bite! I will be making these again. Thanks for sharing your recipe!
