This classic Christmas cookie is a tasty addition to anyone’s recipe box! One that is fun for the whole family to make.
Cream butter and sugar together until nice and soft. Add egg and vanilla, mix well. Then add flour and salt. Continue to mix until all ingredients are combined.
Form the dough into nice big balls and chill the dough for about an hour (this is an important step—it allows the dough to roll out easier).
Roll your cookies out on flour-covered parchment paper, or if you have a nice granite countertop, use that. Use your favorite cookie cutter shapes, and sprinkle with your favorite Christmas decorations. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes, just until they get brown around the edges.
These cookies are my kids’ favorite recipe to make. They enjoy putting their little touches of decoration on each one.
