This is a great basic granola. I like it just the way it is, but I have added sliced almonds, craisins, dried blueberries, etc. It is all good!
Dissolve sugar in 1/3 c water in a saucepan and boil for 1 minute. Cool slightly. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add oil and vanilla to brown sugar syrup, mix well. Pour warm syrup and oil over dry ingredients and mix well. Place on 2 cookie sheets. Bake in a 200 degree oven, stirring every 1/2 hour for 2 hours or until dry and not sticky. Let cool completely and store in a lidded container.
Makes 27 half-cup servings of 150 calories each.
