What could be better on a cold or dreary day than a warm and filling soup? This fits the bill.
1. Fry bacon, remove from fry pan and set aside.
2. Saute onions in bacon fat.
3. Add potatoes, water, bouillon and salt. Simmer 15 minutes.
4. In a small bowl, whisk flour with milk. Gradually stir into the other liquids.
5. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and potatoes are tender (not mush).
6. You can either garnish with chopped, crispy bacon, or add the bacon to the soup.
I usually serve these with cheddar Bisquick buns.
