Description

A delicious twist on regular pancakes! Be sure to make the syrup too, it’s the best part!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE PANCAKES:
  • 6 whole Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter Or Margarine
  • _____
  • FOR THE SYRUP:
  • 1-½ cup Sugar
  • ¾ cups Buttermilk
  • ½ cups Butter Or Margarine
  • 2 Tablespoons Corn Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla

Preparation

Combine eggs, milk, flour, salt and butter. Mix well. Pour into an ungreased 9×13 pan. Bake at 400ºF for 20 minutes.

In a large saucepan, combine sugar, buttermilk, butter, corn syrup and baking soda. Bring to a boil, boil for 7 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.

Serve immediately with pancakes.

it`s very easy. i make mine in a 9×13 glass baking dish.. i`ve never added anything to it, if you try it let me know how you make out!

You make this in a dish? Sounds easy. Have you ever added anything to this recipe while it bakes? Like fruit? I’ll check back….

When I pulled it out of the oven, the boys said, “It looks like Yorkshire Pudding!” I replied, “Yes, so make sure you put a lot of the syrup on it because we know that Yorkshire Pudding tastes good with beef gravy!”

This was yummy. We decided that the syrup tasted good on the fruit and the bacon (and probably anything else you put it on.)

Next time, I’m going to add some black or blueberries to it.

Pretty dang spanking good! Made German pancakes for the first time with this recipe. I added about a handful of fresh blueberries before cooking – and it worked out well. Hubby thought they were pretty good too. Thanks for sharing!
