Description

Rustic and homey, these cookies will satisfy any sweet tooth. The oatmeal adds texture and depth to these delicious confections!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter Or Butter-flavored Shortening
  • 1-½ cup Brown Sugar, Packed
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1-½ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 2-⅓ cups Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 bag (12 Oz) Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips.

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F).

Lightly grease a cookie sheet or line with parchment. Cream butter and sugar til fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Beat or stir in flour, oats, baking soda, and salt; mix well! Stir in chocolate chips with a wooden spoon. Drop 1 tablespoon scoops of dough onto a greased cookie sheet, keeping a 1-inch space between cookies.

Bake for 10 minutes.

**Very Important: allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for five minutes so they can “set up,” then transfer to cooling rack or parchment paper. If placed in an airtight container, they’ll stay fresh for about a week.

Enjoy thoroughly with a glass of milk!

easy and delicious. And perfect to make with kids. My 2,5 year old niece loved helping to shape the cookies.

These are yummy, tender and VERY chocolate-y. I didn’t even use all of the 12 oz of chips, and they were mostly about the chocolate, less about the oatmeal. No complicated spices or sugar mixes, just straight-forward chocolate chips cookies that happen to be made out of oatmeal (which gives these great texture).
