A good friend of mine shared this recipe and it has become a Thanksgiving staple for our family. A very nice alternative to cranberry sauce.
Heat oven to 325 degrees. Prepare 9×13 casserole pan with cooking spray.
Mix together cranberries, apples, granulated sugar and lemon juice. I do this step right in the pan. Stir well.
Mix together butter, brown sugar, oats and walnuts. Sprinkle over the cranberry mixture.
Bake for 60-70 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
I usually make two 8×8 pans of this dish so I have one to take to each of our Thanksgiving dinners. It is very sweet, so it could even be classified as a dessert!
