Description

A ridiculously-delicious hot coffee drink made with Kahlua, whipped sweet cream, and either solid or liquid Dulce de Leche, sold in the Hispanic aisle of grocery stores.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Strongly Brewed Good Coffee
  • 6 ounces, fluid Dulce De Leche (*see Note)
  • 6 Tablespoons Kahlua, More If Preferred
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons Chocolate, Grated

Preparation

Add Dulce de Leche to the very hot coffee; stir until completely dissolved and combined. Keep coffee hot.

Combine cream with sugar and whip until stiff.

Add 1 tablespoon Kahlua to each coffee cup. May add 1 1/2 if desired, or may add whiskey or brandy in addition.

Pour the coffee/dulce de leche mixture into each glass. Top with a heaping tablespoon whipped cream and grated chocolate of your choice.

Absolutely sinful!

*Dulce de Leche is sold in the Hispanic aisle of supermarkets, or in Hispanic specialty markets. It is sold in solid 15 ounce blocks, or in cans or bottles in more of a liquid form. You can also find recipes for making your own Dulce de Leche using sweetened condensed milk. Yum!

I made this tonight after dinner, and it was sooooo good! I also made it without the Kalhua, and it was still great. I’ll be adding this to my regular favorites for special occasions.

Yummy! Equally delicious without the booze. The dulce de leche adds sweetness and a creamy taste to the coffee, both of which I am a big fan!

Fantastic. My neighbor came over for coffee and I made these. She now claims she will watch my kids (I have 3 and she has 4) any time, and I can just pay her back with this coffee!

I made it without the Kahlua, and I added a little diluted espresso powder to the whipping cream for a mocha twist. Fantastic.

This will become a staple in my house. Thanks!!
