Description

Strawberry Bread Pudding! Looking for summer where I can get it!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Day Old Bread Or Coffee Cake
  • ½ cups Sliced Strawberries
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 1-½ cup Milk
  • ⅓ cups Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • ⅓ cups Condensed Milk (optional)

Preparation

Heat oven to 350°F. Spread bread cubes in a greased 9″ square baking pan. Tuck sliced strawberries between pieces of bread.

Whisk together eggs, milk, sugar and extract. Gently pour over the bread cubes, pressing the custard down into the bread with the back of a spoon.

Bake for 30-40 minutes, until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

Cut yourself a slice, drizzle with condensed milk, and add a strawberry for garnish.

This was delicious! The entire family loved it. We didn’t drizzle it with sweetened condensed milk (I didn’t have any immediate use for an open mostly-full can) and so it wasn’t very sweet at all. I will make this again, and I will likely increase the sugar by just a tablespoon or two, and I’ll double the vanilla to give it just a bit more omph! But the basic recipe is awesome and easy to tweak for your family’s tastes!
