Description

One bowl chocolate cake. Super easy and delicious.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE CAKE:
  • 1-¾ cup Flour
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • ¾ cups Unsweetened Cocoa
  • 1-½ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1-½ teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • ½ cups Vegetable Oil
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1 cup Boiling Water
  • _____
  • FOR THE FROSTING:
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter
  • ¾ cubes Cocoa Powder
  • 2-⅔ cups Powdered Sugar
  • ⅓ cubes Half-and-Half Or Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

Preparation

Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla. Mix for 2-3 minutes on medium speed. Stir in the boiling water. Pour into a greased 9×13 pan. Bake for 40-55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

This is a very moist cake.

To make the frosting, cream butter. Add cocoa powder and powdered sugar alternately with half-and-half. Put the vanilla in last. Yum!

Now that I have made this, I must comment that it is absolutely fabulous, moist and VERY easy to make. The icing is fantastic and it is not overly sweet. Definitely a keeper. Baked at 350.

Are some of the measurements on this incorrect? 3/4 c of cocoa seems quite alot and not sure what 1/3 cube of milk/half and half and 3/4 cubes cocoa means? Sounds good, but want to make sure what’s what before I create a monster! Thanks!

This cake is fantastic! Not only is it quick and easy, but it is absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for something that may not take a long time to make but tastes like it did, this is it (or if you’re just craving a wickedly moist chocolate cake, look no further).

I baked at 350 for 50 minutes in my stove. Came out nice and moist! Not a terribly strong chocolate flavor, or my frosting overwhelmed but since it was a birthday cake, the recipient loved it. I added a tablespoon of cinnamon to the frosting. It added a nice flavor to the cake overall.

This is a great cake. Very moist and yummy; the children loved it. With the frosting, it was too sweet for me but another frosting would be just as good on this cake. Maybe cream cheese? Anyway, thanks a bunch!

I LOVE this cake. I’ve made it several times now, and I use organic flour. So, so good. I’ve even left off the icing and just added a few chocolate chips to make it a little more decadent. It’s so good, you don’t need the icing. Eat with ice cream, and it’s amazing! Thanks for sharing Sheralee!!
