Puppy Chow

Recipe Description

Also known as “muddy buddies,” this classic chocolate and peanut butter snack will have you “chowing” down!

Preparation Instructions

Into a large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.

In a 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on “High” for 1 minute; stir. Microwave for about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla (optional). Pour mixture over the cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into a 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.

Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well-coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in an airtight container or bag in the refrigerator.

Please note that this recipe is for humans to enjoy only! Any form of chocolate is no good for pups. So buy them a fun little doggy treat to enjoy while you “chow” on this.

9 cups Corn, Rice Or Wheat Chex Cereal (or A Combination)
1 cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
½ cups Peanut Butter
¼ cups Butter
1 teaspoon Vanilla (optional)
1-½ cup Powdered Sugar

I have made this recipe and I will say it is amazing!! It is great for a little sweet munchie! Also, I made it and put it in a large party bowl and had a large party and it was the first thing gone!

This is really yummy. I like to add raisins and peanuts. Sometimes I will sub butterscotch chips for the chocolate chips and it is equally good.

One of my all-time favorite guilty pleasures. I make his whenever there’s going to be a lot of kiddos or a lot of dudes around. It’s a hit no matter what (unless you’re allergic to peanuts) and even though you think there’s enough to feed an army, it’s all gone by the end of any party. LOVE!

This makes really good puppy chow, the best I’ve ever made. I added a little more chocolate, PB, and butter than the recipe called for so it would thoroughly coat the Chex. It was great!

I made this for a “baking” exchange. Tastes wonderful! Very addicting! I doubled the recipe, but had to 3x the coating mix to cover it well. No Chex in Canada, so I used Crispix and worked just the same. Thanks for sharing!
