Nothing out of the world about this cake, but great for a base yellow layer. Nice and moist, not overly sweet, though a bit plain. Frosted with chocolate frosting, and was quite yummy!! Thank you for the recipe, will use again!

I grew up simply adoring yellow cake from a box, but this is a fanstastic recipe! I took the advice from above and added about 1/2 tsp butter extract and they turned out great! I think I’m done buying those boxes… : )

This is a fantastic yellow cake recipe. It stayed so wonderfully moist! And mine turned out a bit denser than a cake-from-a-box recipe – but I like it better this way!!
I’d say next time, I’m going to add about a half teaspoon of imitation butter flavoring, just to give it a little boost, but it is already wonderful just as it is!!
Thanks so much, my boyfriend can’t wait for me to make this again.

I’m assuming this batter can be used for cupcakes? I’ve been looking for a good recipe and this looks yummy =)

The batter indeed fills 2 8inch round pans and you should always grease and flour your cake pans

It doesn’t state what size pan to bake this in. 8″ round? 2 8″ rounds? And, I’m assuming you are to grease and flour your cake pan?
Thanks!

Oh, thank goodness – a yellow cake Not out of a box!!
My BF’s favorite cake is a yellow cake. And since his birthday is a week away I had to scramble to find one I can make from scratch, and here it is!
I can’t wait to whip it up. Thank you so much.
