I made this and it’s awe-some-uh. I want to live in a world made of Baking in Boots Key Lime Cake.

I made this wonderful cake for a Christmas 2009 get together. It was well recieved and I was requested to bring it for Christmas 2010. I made the candied lime. It was a bit time consuming but added so much to the presentation. I could have easily halved the quanity of frosting and still had plenty. As it was, I used the remainder on sugar cookies. This cake was a yummy delight!

Terrific! Next time though I would only use half of the sugar bath and half of the frosting.

this looks amazing!
so can you use butter instead of the Margarine? or is there something magical with Margarine?
thanks for the recipe!

I just like the way the margarine does in this cake but butter works fine too. I also made cupcakes out of them and they turned out precious for a different twist!

I’m making it this afternoon!!

no you can definitely use butter! I just usually use margarine because it softens faster and creams easier. But there really isn’t much of a difference once it is baked.

our’s is in the oven and the icing is made…. so far the icing is delicious!!! can’t wait to sink my teeth in.

okay – wonderful wonderful cake! one thing we noticed is that it seems you could cut the icing by a half and still have plenty…. did anyone else notice the abundance left? we didn’t skimp on it either…
