Description

This recipe was given to me by my husband’s granny and it is super easy and makes perfect fudge every time. No candy thermometer needed!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 can PET Milk (Small Can) (Evaporated Milk)
  • 16 whole Large Marshmallows
  • 16 ounces, weight Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Butter
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

Preparation

1. Butter a 9″ square pan.

2. In large saucepan, combine sugar, PET milk and marshmallows and cook together until melted over medium heat. Then cook for five more minutes, stirring constantly.

3. Remove from heat.

4. Add chocolate chips, butter, salt and vanilla and stir until smooth.

5. Pour into pan and let cool to set. You can put it into the refrigerator to get it to set quicker.

You should list the ounces of the evaporated milk. My grocery store only sells one size, and it wasn’t until I was in a different one last night (after the fudge was already made) that I saw a smaller size in a different store. The fudge I made with the first can I bought has not set.

Hi, PET (Brand name) milk is evaporated milk, this fudge is very good and there is a microwave version of this recipe as well which involves marshmallow cream verses regular marshmallows.

Hello. Is PET milk evaporated milk or condensed milk or something different altogether? I haven’t heard of it before. Thanks.
