Description

This dessert goes together quickly. My family loves it with a scoop of ice cream on top. But it’s good without it.

Ingredients

  • 1 box Yellow Cake Mix (18 Ounce Box)
  • 1 stick Butter Or Oleo
  • 1 can (21 Oz. Size) Cherry Pie Filling
  • ½ cups Chopped Pecans

Preparation

Cut butter into the cake mix until it is crumbly. Set aside.

Spread the pie filling over the bottom of a 13 x 9 baking dish.
Cover the pie filling with the cake mix/butter mixture.
Sprinkle pecans over the top.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.

This is a really GREAT reciupe – very tasty and incredibly easy, however, I had two problems.

The cook time of 30 min was not enough – the cake was still dry and uncooked- I had to up the time to close to 60 min. Also, at about 45 min – the cake was still really dry and white looking, so I added 1/2 stick of butter (cut in small pieces) to the top of the cake and put it back in the oven. Once I did that and cooked it another 15 min – it was great.

I took it out of the oven and it tastes wonderful! I will definitely make this again.
