Description

Death by Caramel Brownies are the most decadent and dangerous brownies ever! All you need is a spoon and then you can just eat the warm brownies right out of the oven.

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces, weight Caramel Candies, Wrappers Removed
  • ¾ cups Evaporated Milk, Divided Use
  • 10 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1-¼ cup White Sugar
  • ¾ cups Cocoa Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • ½ cups Flour
  • ½ cups Chocolate Chips

Preparation

In a small pot combine the caramels and 1/2 cup evaporated milk. Heat over medium heat and stir until all caramels are melted. Then remove from heat and set aside.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray and line a 9×9 baking tin with parchment.

In a pot over medium heat, combine the butter, sugar, cocoa power and salt and mix for 2 minutes. Add the vanilla and eggs and combine. Stir in the flour and set aside.

Pour half of the batter into the preparef pan and bake for 10 minutes.

Remove from oven, pour the caramel mixture over the brownies. If the brownie batter gets mixed in – no need to worry! Top the caramel mixture with the chocolate chips and the remaining brownie batter. Just scoop the brownie batter over the caramel with a spoon. Finish baking for 20 minutes. Remove and let cool for about 90 minutes before slicing into these brownies.

*Note – these are best eaten with a spoon directly out of the pan – I’m just sayin…

What do you do with the other 1/4 cup of evaporated milk? I assumed that went it in the batter . I made these this morning and yes — I did have to eat them out of the pan!!!
