Description

My mom called these “marzipan”—I am not sure that is technically correct but they are delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (3 Oz. Size) Strawberry Jello
  • 1 cup Ground Pecans
  • 1 cup Flaked Sweetened Coconut
  • ¾ cups Sweetened, Condensed Milk
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1 jar (2 1/4 Oz. Size) Red Decorator Sugar
  • ¼ cups Sliced Almonds
  • 5 drops Green Food Coloring

Preparation

Combine gelatin, pecans, and coconut. Stir in milk and vanilla and mix well. Chill 1 hour.

Shape into strawberry shapes and roll in red sugar.

Tint the almonds with green food coloring and insert into the top of the “berries” to make a leaf.

Notes:
I actually tinted my own sugar red, using a sandwich baggie and 1/2 cup sugar.
The cook time is actually the time it took me to make the berries.
These are very sweet, and they look nice on a plate of cookies.
