I actually found these years ago on another site (and loved them), and was excited when Ree posted them on her blog. The ingredients really threw me, but everything comes together so wonderfully. And they are so easy, too!

I made these last night (a half batch, which I baked in a 9-inch round cake pan — worked a treat!), and they were amazing. SO GOOD. Between myself, my boyfriend, and his roommate, there were two left over (and this was after we had all consumed enormous Marlboro Man sandwiches…so we started out pretty full!), which I had to send home with the boys, as I was certain I would wake up this morning thinking that an apple dumpling would make a great breakfast. And that I really ought to eat the other one, with it looking all lonesome in its gladware. I’m a bleeding heart like that. So yes, I totally recommend these, they are amazing!

I got my mother-in-law to make these one day while we were back home visiting. My late grandmother-in-law came over for supper. Normally she would only eat a few bites of anything before declaring herself full. We convinced her to squeeze in a bite of these dumplings.
Not only did she eat the one we gave her, but she ate two more! The next morning when we went to visit she was scandalized that we had eaten the remainder for breakfast and hadn’t brought her any.
If that doesn’t constitute a 5-mitt rating, then I don’t know what does.

I have made these several times and everytime they turn out perfect. So easy to make and my family loves them!!!

Delicious!!!!!! They are good right out of the oven and just as good the following day warmed up in the microwave!

Loved these quick and easy treats. I made them when I was home alone, which is very dangerous, and they made the whole house smell edible. They’ll make a great hit at Sunday school.

These are so great. They are simple to make and I have brought them to several family and friend gatherings. They are such a crowd-pleaser and taste especially good warm with vanilla ice cream.

Just made this tonight, and there is just no overstating how good it is, especially considering how easy it is to prepare! The entire family loved it so much that they’ve forbidden me to make it again for a VERY LONG TIME, because it cries out to be eaten.

I am now officially famous for this recipe. I always give credit where credit is due of course! I have made these at least 8 times and made them for my kindergarten parents as part of their graduation from my class. Parents were actually scooping them into cups as they left so as not to leave any leftovers. It is my all time favorite dessert. Hands down.
