Description

This cake happened by accident. I was trying a new recipe that was simply not working out. I had used up all of one of my major ingredients on two previously failed attempts, so I had to make some major changes halfway through. The finished product turned out to be absolute perfection!

Incredibly moist with an intense chocolate flavor, and so, so good!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 4 ounces, weight Unsweetened Baking Chocolate
  • 1-¼ cup Water
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1-¼ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ cups Sour Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 3 whole Eggs

Preparation

In a small sauce pan melt together butter, chocolate, and water on medium low heat until well blended. Set aside and allow to cool.

Sift together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Transfer to a mixing bowl. Add chocolate mixture and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Add sour cream and vanilla, mix until well blended. Add eggs one at a time.

Bake at 350ºF for 30-35 minutes.
