Description

Someone once paid $200 for a pan of these brownies at a church auction. Yes, they are that good. They are easy to make and they are always a BIG hit!

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (21.2 Oz. Size) Hershey's Triple Chocolate Chunk Brownie Mix (See Note)
  • 1 cup Oil
  • 4 whole Eggs
  • ¼ cups Water
  • 3 whole (6.8 Oz. Size) Symphony Bars (See Note)

Preparation

Note: You can buy the Hershey’s Triple Chocolate Chunk Brownie Mix in bulk at Sam’s if you are from good old Oklahoma. If not, try to find something similar with chocolate chunks in the mix. It is VERY important. The Symphony bars are found on the candy aisle at most grocery stores. They are large, thick Symphony bars for baking.

Mix the packages of brownie mix with the oil, eggs, and water. Layer HALF of the brownie mix on the bottom of a greased 9×13 pan.

Layer all of the Symphony bars on top of the brownie mix that you have poured in the bottom of the pan. Finally, layer the remaining half of the brownie mix on top of the Symphony bars.

Baking time is VERY important. I bake mine on convection bake at 300ºF for 45 minutes. If you like them firmer, cook them for 50 minutes. If you are not using a convection oven, the temperature would need to be adjusted to 325ºF.

Let cool thoroughly before cutting and serving, or serve them hot out of the oven with a big scoop of ice cream on them if you are feeling extra sinful. Enjoy!

They taste great at all stages: hot, cooled, and straight from the fridge when the symphony bar has hardened again!

My Word! I made these for a potluck 4th of July BBQ and they were the first dessert to be gone. And once people found out I was the culprit who brought them they were giving me their emails so I could share the recipe!

Needed something quick to make for a large event. Everyone raved about them! People were amazed that I made so many brownies from “scratch”!

These brownies were a BIG hit at my church potluck. I even came home with an empty pan! :) Thanks for sharing the recipe!
