Description

My mom’s BBQ sauce is the perfect mixture of spicy, sweet and tang. It is a great sauce for grilled chicken, pork or even as a dip for grilled cheese. I have also used it on pizza crust instead of pizza sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Vinegar
  • ½ cups Worcestershire Sauce
  • 4 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Red Pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 4 teaspoons Paprika
  • 4 cups Ketchup
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 cup Sugar

Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan, bring to a boil. Cook over low heat until it reaches the thickness you prefer (approximately 30-40 minutes), stirring occasionally. Allow to cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Fantastic flavor!I used a little less sugar, and it was perfect!

Great, thanks! It has a good amount of zip – too much for my small kids, probably, but perfect for me. Lets you know it’s there without blowing your head off! I used brown sugar but other than that followed the recipe exactly. Just the right amount of sweet and tart.
