Quite possibly one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. Imagine if you will, plunging your spoon through a crispy layer of caramelized sugar to expose a silky layer of frozen creme brulee ice cream beneath. Oh yea baby, this recipe is worth every single calorie-laden bite. Break out the kitchen torch! Your family and friends are going to flip over this one.

I got this recipe from Western Horseman magazine. It’s from the historic Rancho de La Osa Inn in Sasabe Arizona. I love this as a cool treat and it travels well, too.

Coffee Cake meets Caramel Apples, and it’s love at first bite! This tender and delicate coffee cake has a crumbly streusel-like topping, and then a drizzle of warm caramel sauce which takes it over the top! Enjoy it as-is for the perfect party dessert, or leave off the caramel sauce and it becomes a new brunch favorite!

I received this recipe from my husband’s grandmother, and this is his favorite dessert. He even said mine is better than his mother’s!

The right balance of whole wheat flour makes for a tasty and somewhat healthier pie crust. Tastes great with pumpkin pies, and even when making pecan pie.

I am a huge fan of foods that remind me of being a kid. There is comfort in knowing that life changes, but yumminess doesn’t. Some foods are totally acceptable to eat throughout your life and some foods should probably be left alone after your 10th birthday. Like these chocolate crackles. That’s why I’m so glad I have kids now. I have an excuse to make (and eat) these all the time. Now all I need is an Atari 64 and some episodes of Wonder Woman and I can pretend that it’s 1980 again and I don’t have bathrooms to clean.

Heather is a Texas native and the blogger behind Heather's Dish. She's mom to Weston, wife to Nate, and they live in Little Rock, Arkansas with their two "stubborn and saucy" dogs Bunker and Keira. In her blog, she shares her photographs, random musings (serious and silly alike), and all kinds of scrumptious recipes---and not just evil variations of her favorite mac and cheese. Her enviable TK recipe box is a testament to that. Go see for yourself!
