Description

Jacked-up fried egg sandwiches. Secret ingredient? Grape jelly. Really. My brother-in-law lived with us for a short time several years ago and made these for us for breakfast once. In horror, we tried them (that’s how our moms raised us) and to our astonishment and delight, we loved them. They’re named after his dad, Tony, who invented them when he and his brother were kids. Thanks, Tony!

Ingredients

  • 2 slices Cheese (such As 2% American)
  • 4 slices Bread, Toasted
  • Grape Jelly, To Taste
  • 4 whole Eggs
  • ¼ pounds Shaved Turkey

Preparation

1. Slap a slice of cheese on each of two slices of toast.
2. Slather grape jelly on the other two slices of toast.
3. Fry eggs to your preferred level of doneness, salt and pepper to taste.
4. Place two eggs on top of each of the cheese sides.
5. Lightly cook the turkey in the pan you cooked the eggs in.
6. Place 1/2 of the turkey on top of each of the egg and cheese sides.
7. Place the jelly side on and voila. A Tony-wich.

I love my eggs, toast, and jelly sandwich. I have been eating them for years, but never told a soul, afraid they would think I was crazy. Awesome to see this here!!!

I love this!!! I prefer my without cheese, but I am just not a big cheese fan unless it is melted mozz. but I dont think that goes with eggs. First time I have ever had turkey with eggs, it works!!
