Description

This is the best quiche I have ever made, and I think perhaps the addition of cottage cheese is the key!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Pie Crust
  • ½ whole Sweet Onion, Caramelized
  • 8 whole Sausage Links, Cooked
  • 1-½ cup Shredded Cheese Of Your Choice
  • 6 whole Eggs
  • ⅓ cups Cottage Cheese
  • ¼ cups Milk
  • ¼ teaspoons Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Chives
  • ½ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste

Preparation

Par bake the pie crust at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. Remove to cool.

Spread the caramelized onions in the bottom of the pie crust. Add the meat and top with as much shredded cheese as you like.

In a separate bowl, mix the beaten eggs, cottage cheese, milk and spices until well incorporated and pour over the pie crust.

Bake at 350 degrees for approximately an hour. Check and cook for additional time as needed—you don’t want the quiche to wiggle at all. Remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes.

Cut and serve with sour cream if you wish!

Oh my gosh! So, so tasty! Even my 6 yr old daughter who asked for a small piece wolfed it down! And, it looks exactly like the picture!

Served it with some fruit for Easter brunch. Easy to do; went together in a snap.

Going to use the same basic recipe to make a dinner quiche, maybe using some leftover steak and mushrooms. 8 yr old daughter asked for it using bacon, too, so I see several quiches in our near future!

Thank you!
